Yup, I love Nyan Cat. So much so, that I thought I would design my very own Nyan Cat Fabric and make a Nyan Cat Geek Skirt.

Yes, once again I have been a little bit quiet on my blog of late (maybe sensing a New Years Resolution here), but I have still be rather crafty, creating a variety of fabric designs on Spoonflower. For thoses who have never heard of Spoonflower before, it is a site where you can create your very own custom fabrics, or browse through hundreds of other awesome designs to purchase. The variety in styles is amazing, so no matter what your fabric addiction is, you are bound to find something that you will love.
For my designs I have been focusing on the things I love, in particular geek and pop culture inspired fabrics. While I am keeping many of my designs private and exclusive to myself for special projects, I will be releasing some to be purchased via Spoonflower. I had wanted to try out making my own pair of comic book shoes for quite some time, and here is my first attempt. I actually used left over Spiderman wrapping paper from Link’s birthday and was pretty happy with the results of my first pair – until I wore them. The problem with the wrapping paper is the clear coating they put on the top to make it glossy. The glue I used stuck to the back and front of the paper nicely, but after some movement, the clear coating of the paper it’s self actually started to separate from the base, causing the paper to bubble and peel. Still rather happy from my first experimental go.
Loki, the Norse God of Mischief has always had a place in my heart, even before discovering his incarnation within the Marvel Universe. He is often mis-understood and feels cast out because of his differences, which were just some of the reasons why I was drawn to him and related to him so much as a teenager. Be it Marvel or Myth, who can’t resist Loki? After all, we were made to be ruled!
